This has got nothing to do with Balloons, beach balls or Stevie & Nando’s international duty injuries. I really do wish it were that simple. What we are sadly contending with here is a crisis. It’s an overused tag to be sure yet the word crisis, in this instance, I do feel obligated to use.
As a mate Mike opined, it was Johnson vs. Sunderland today. Morale, or lack thereof, was palpable. 3-4-3 was confusing to us fans, never mind those on the pitch. Mascherano sitting on the bench mystified me as did Riera’s arse gathering splinters.
It deeply saddens to me to impart our unmitigated lack of depth & the ridiculously unhealthy reliance upon no.’s 8 & 9. Without them we look devoid of ideas & penetration options; ordinary at best. Several players, by virtue of injury & tactical formation, were offered their chance to shine… an unequivocal invitation. This opportunity was chucked about like a hot potato that only Glen wanted to hold on to.
Rafa’s tactics have always been unconventional & when they work, then magic… pure magic. More often than not of late though, myself & millions of others have been left bemused. We saw what Bruce’s Sunderland can do two weeks ago at The Skip. Any lessons to be learned here!? Methinks so.
I reckon we’re looking at Demento’s successor in Bruce. If my disdain for him is anything to go by, then he looks quids in. Said plonker undid us tactically & motivated his players, in combination with our own passive & spineless display, to attack us in waves. They never really concertedly shut up shop & we had no counter today to speak of.
Early days it is but we need radical & quick change. Our good players don’t all of a sudden turn bad so what’’s behind this demise?
Bunch of arse that we don’t deserve.

I agree with your article and LFC are sliding down the table fast. There can be no more excuses either for Rafa or the owners. The tactics are wrong; the team selection is wrong; the motivation doesn’t exist; and there’s no leadership either. We need a radical change in mentality and quick.
Lyon next and another defeat beckons. They are heads and shoulders above Liverpool who’ve only managed average or below average teams this season. We’ve not managed to beat any team that has ambitions. I’ve been supporting Liverpool since ‘68 and most players in this team are a disgrace to the might redmen of the past.
