Looking more and more like we’ll be a Europa League squad, both this season (probable) and next (also probable when you win 1 out of 10 matches and draw against the likes of Birmingham and Man City at home)… and if we aren’t careful, it could be even worse.
I don’t want to get too dramatic, but the statistics tell their own story. I am far too gutted about the latest results to really delve into the analysis. Quite simply, injuries and defensive ineptitude have led us to a meager 20 points after 13 matches, which is quite shocking for a club that was only 4 points off the title the previous season.
The Birmingham and Man City matches had similar themes, with an opening goal threatening to finally give us that boost to move forward in the season and then diabolical defending leading to a 1-2 deficit, and then lady luck smiling upon us in almost sympathetic fashion in order for us to draw 2-2. Ngog and Gerrard were our scorers in the first match, with Skrtel scoring his first for Liverpool in the second match and Yossi Benayoun yet again providing us with a crucial goal in that same match.
Off to Hungary in the midweek, where hopefully we can pull our fingers out… but somehow I feel like we’ll escape from eastern Europe with our tails between our legs. I’m shattered… absolutely shattered.

We are having a poor season but I am trying to keep positive about it.
The League is gone now and The Champions League is unlikely also.
Lets just take it one game at a time and ee where it leaves us.
