Mystified (verb)- to involve in obscurity, mystery
Synonyms: fool, mislead, puzzle, bewilder, elude.
Our horrific, horrendous, and mystifying form this season has been, well, mystifying. I am indeed mystified by why we have so much less confidence and defensive stability this season. I am mystified by why Gerrard doesn’t selfishly have a pop from 25 yards and instead tries to slip a needle pass out wide through 8 players. I am mystified by why Torres dribbles into opponents instead of around them. I am mystified by why Benayoun in the last few matches doesn’t jink and move, but instead misplaces his passes. And I am also quite mystified by why our defenders have let in so many goals.
I won’t talk about the Arsenal match, because:
1) I’m too confused about our performance to analyze it.
and
2) I am heartbroken and don’t want to!!!
So there you have it. Wigan tomorrow, and let’s hope I have something to say other than a definition of why I’m so bloody sad!!!
