The defeat against Arsenal a few days ago was a game of great debate! Talk of poor tactics, poor lineups and no chances, filled the newspapers and LFC forums around the world.
Another hot topic was that of Ryan Babel. For a change it was not about his tweets or twitterings, but about how he should have been given the chance to start the game against Arsenal.
Babel was given a rare appearance this season as a sub at the Emirates stadium and just had enough time to show the Liverpool fans what he can do. His pace and effort brought a Liverpool team to life after a boring 60 odd minutes of no passion or chances.
Yes David Ngog is doing well but he looked out of his depth against the Gooners and the games was calling out for Babel. Even keeping the same formation we could have grabbed three points with Babel upfront as I believe more chances would have been made.
Babel is a stiker, has a great shot and needs his chance. As we are still waiting for Torres this is the time to give him that chance. Some say he is weak defensively, but this won’t matter if we give him the ball and let him do his job. Ngog isn’t the best at helping the defense but yet Rafa still picks him.
There is no transfer distractions for now and the Twitter thing is in the past. Now is his time to show us and Rafa what he can do. Will this happen against Unirea Urziceni in the Europa League? I hope so and I think it should!
What do you think?
