Well, it was definitely a much better show put on by our Liverpool side, after bouncing back from their 3-0 defeat to Galatasaray to claim this draw against Valerenga.
*Stewart Downing is absolute class. One moment that I especially remember was when he absolutely bullied his marker, twisting left and right, and then sending in an inch perfect cross for Andy Carroll to get on to, just to be denied by the keeper. Looking forward to more from him next season.
*Daniel Agger, although indeed scoring two goals, was weak in the defence. I particularly remember one moment in the game where he made a slide tackle that absolutely had no chance of getting to the ball, resulting in what was a one vs one between the attacker and Reina. Attacking-wise, he was brilliant, I just think that he could do more to add more security to this defence of ours.
*Alberto Aquilani, he had a great game yesterday. Although not much time, his crosses from corners were accurate, and so was his shooting. He had two great shots that were both brilliantly denied by the keeper, he was pretty good out there yesterday, and I’m actually hoping for Liverpool to keep him for this upcoming season.
*Glen Johnson requires more games, I think that’s what he needs. He looked sluggish out there, he lost the ball few times and he failed to keep up with his marker on a few occasions, so he’s going to need to work harder to keep our young right-back duo in John Flanagan and Martin Kelly.
*Raheem Sterling, well, not too many oppourtunities to see him in action, but from what I’ve seen from this game, he is really pacey. Fast and can deliver a quality cross. I wanna see more of this kid in action after what I’ve seen today.
*Dirk Kuyt was in my opinion a bit off his game, he was quiet and loss the ball on many occasions.
