Danny Ings has told our official website that he’s been loving life since completing his move from Burnley to Liverpool this summer, with the quality of his teammates making life easy for him up front.
The young striker has certainly thrived thus far, opening his Reds account with a goal against Adelaide United on Monday, and he is now looking forward to making his Premier League debut next month.
Ings took part in three of our games during the Far East tour, also playing against the Thai All-Stars and Brisbane Roar, and was a constant threat at the head of our attack. He even netted a hat-trick during our training game win over Felda United, something which will no doubt help his confidence.

Time to stop: Discussing why Liverpool should stick with seven summer signings
Asked which of his teammates he’d struck up a strong working relationship with, he replied: “I think the majority of them. They’re playing for a top club so they all have that vision to see that runs I make and know when it’s right to [play the pass].
“With all due respect to previous clubs that I’ve been at there’s a lot more quality here at Liverpool so it’s an exciting relationship that I can build with the lads here.”
Ings is also keenly anticipating working with Brazilian duo Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino, who have only recently returned to the club after enjoying extended holiday periods – granted following their participation in the Copa America with Brazil.
“It’s all about development, all about improving,” he added. “I’m still young and to learn from players like this is huge for me. To train with them every day it certainly means I’m going to improve my game and work on things that I need to work on and can learn from them.”
It’s difficult to predict how significant a role Ings will play for Liverpool next season, following the arrival of Christian Benteke from Aston Villa and with Daniel Sturridge still to come back from injury.
However, he’s been nothing but a positive presence thus far. He’s been working hard on and off the pitch and, as these latest set of quotes indicate, his attitude is spot on. Let’s hope that he can deliver when he gets his chance.
