If the game against Crystal Palace had a different outcome then you can bet that many Liverpool fans would be bullish on the upcoming fixture against Manchester City. I guess the International break has helped all the injured players recover a bit, however with the exception of James Milner I don’t think there is a chance of anyone else returning.
The Palace game had left us with an injured Mamadou Sakho and just when the partnership between him and Skrtel was starting to develop now Dejan Lovren must jump in and fill the void. Lovren has only had a couple of cameos since Klopp took over, however from what we saw he looked like a different player than the one who played under Brendan Rodgers. Of course the concern that I have (and probably many other Liverpool fans too) is how will Skrtel, Lovren, Clyne and Moreno deal with the frightening pace of Raheem Sterling.
Ever since he left Liverpool, Raheem has been on fire at City and I am sure that he will be extra motivated when he plays against us this weekend. However we all know that Raheem didn’t have a very good last season at Liverpool which might indicate that mind games might get to him. So will Martin Skrtel show him who is boss just like Carragher did to Torres in his first game against us?
Of course we just can’t forget Klopp’s genius, if had asked me about this game a couple of months ago I would have given City an easy victory but now with the Klopp factor I am going for a draw. If we didn’t have as many injuries I would have even gone for a win but I must admit that will be though, but hey it might be still worth a bet see here for more.
