Liverpool’s chances of signing Monaco sensation Kylian Mbappe looked incredibly small from the minute we were linked, but any slim hopes have been dashed after it was revealed the striker has his heart set on Real Madrid.
Los Blancos, the best team in the world having recently won their third Champions League in four seasons, have earmarked the phenomenal 18-year-old as the long-term (and maybe short-term…) replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo – who wants to leave Spain after being indicted for unpaid tax.
The Mirror claim that Mbappe’s decided the only team he will leave his boyhood club for are Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid – who’ll also be more than capable of breaking the world record transfer fee for his services.
Last term, the forward plundered 26 goals altogether, helping Monaco to Ligue 1 glory and establishing himself as the most exciting youngster on the planet.
Sadly, we’ll have to enjoy his progression from afar!
