Trent Alexander-Arnold Says Spurs win Was “Quality”

He’s happy and we’re happy. Everyone’s happy!

Sure, Salah gets the headlines, but when you’re writing an article like this, no Liverpool consistently puts out great quotes than Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The young right back is always happy to add something interesting with a smile on his face, as the boy playing for his local team really couldn’t be in a better spot right now. Even with Nathaniel Clyne’s return to fitness, there is no doubt who the first choice right back is. And this could be the case for a long, long time.

Speaking of the Spurs win, he told the official Liverpool website that “It was quality.

“They never had too many clear-cut chances, which is hard to do when you come to Wembley, with Tottenham playing here.

“We created a lot of chances and in all honesty it probably could have been more. But we’ll look back on it and we have still got the three points. We are disappointed with the late goal, but at the end of the day we have got the three points.

“We know that they had a threat and the players that they have are in good form as well, so it was always going to be a tough battle to come here and try to stop them defensively.

“We have come here with a game plan and I think the manager and the team got it spot on”.

Looking ahead to the Paris Saint-Germain fixture, Alexander-Arnold says he expects the game to be “difficult”. He expanded to say that Liverpool are “playing world-class opposition every single game we’ve got until probably the next internationals.

“So, performing week in and week out is a must, and getting those results that we need to show that we are one of the best teams in Europe. The best teams go out and win and that’s what we have shown today.”

There may come a time in the future when Alexander-Arnold needs a rest, or Clyne just comes in as a rotation option. For now, though, there is no doubt who will start at right back, and no one would have it any other way.
