Liverpool target Nabil Fekir is reportedly set to leave Lyon next summer, according to latest reports.
The 25-year-old was nailed on to move to Liverpool this summer, with a medical taking place and LFCTV conducting an interview with Fekir ahead of the move.
However, a knee problem identified in the medical led to the Reds attempting to renegotiate terms with Lyon, before eventually pulling the plug on the deal.
Liverpool supporters who anticipated the attacking midfielder to make the move were left duly frustrated, having considered Fekir the replacement to Philippe Coutinho, who departed Anfield in January.
Having missed out on a move to Anfield, Fekir was expected to sign a contract extension at Lyon, however L’Equipe report that Fekir is now expected to leave Lyon at the end of this season.
The Frenchman’s contract expires in 2020, with his value set to diminish thereafter as he enters his final year, so Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas is likely to entertain bids for the stylish midfielder.
It remains to be seen whether Liverpool enter the frame for Fekir, with local journalists previously claiming that the Reds have moved on from him.
However, having won the World Cup with France in the summer, he has put in some impressive displays this season that has no doubt added to his growing reputation.
Bayern Munich are also linked with Fekir as manager Niko Kovač looks to strengthen his attacking options.
Whether or not Liverpool revive their interest, supporters will want a quick resolution to his future having seen him involved in a long drawn out saga last time around.
