Perrie Edwards talks about the Liverpool midfielder’s eating habits and more.
We’re a million days away from last watching Liverpool play a football match. I’ve grown hundreds of thousands of beards during that time, sheltered at home, existing remotely, hoping for the best and waiting for the all-clear siren over Premier League Headquarters.
Jürgen Klopp is expected to join other managers in beginning team training at some point soon but until then, players have been stuck inside their homes just like most of the rest of us.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been trapped inside his place with partner Perrie Edwards. Edwards, if you don’t know, is either a famous or semi-famous young singer who I’m fairly sure was once in a girl group but maybe does more of her own stuff now? If you’re young, you already know. If you’re not young, you don’t care. So here’s what you should know about Ox and Perrie. They’re young and fun and last week they made a video of themselves dancing together and it was cute.
Perrie was recently asked about what its like being isolated with Oxlade-Chamberlain. The Liverpool midfielder has a reputation as a fun-loving teammate. And you’ll be glad to know that he has the same reputation at home.
“I literally keep saying to people, when they’re like ‘How is Alex’ I’m like, he’s good, but one, try rationing with an athlete in your house. It’s impossible, he’s never full,” Perrie said.
“He’s like a pit that doesn’t fill up. He’s eaten literally everything in the kitchen. I’ve done nothing but cook and clean, I feel like a little housewifey.
“And he has a funny every half hour every day. Because he’s so energetic everyday training he’ll do like his training sessions and then he’ll just have a funny half hour and I’m just like ‘What are you doing now?’”
Oxlade-Chamberlain’s unique spirit was crucial to his positive outlook through his long injury layoff two seasons ago. Now that he’s been back and fully reintegrated into the team, his performances have become more and more effective. He’s obviously feeling good and clearly enjoying his life at Liverpool.
