Liverpool trying desperately to offload striker before September

It’s easy to forget that Fabio Borini is still a Liverpool player, but as of today, the Italian is on our books and unless we can find a taker before Tuesday evening, he’ll stay with us until January at the earliest.

But the club desperately don’t want this to happen, and are working tirelessly to find the 24-year-old a new club, reports the Echo.

Borini is not in Brendan Rodgers’ plans, as was proven last season when we accepted bids from Sunderland and QPR for his services – but irritatingly, the player rejected the offers, and now we’re not going to get anywhere near as much cash – if any – for his services.

The Echo claims West Ham, Sunderland, Inter Milan and Fiorentina are all interested, but while Liverpool would prefer to offload Borini permanently, a loan deal is most likely.

Fellow Italian flop Mario Balotelli has already departed on loan to join AC Milan of course, while Lazar Markovic looks to be on the verge of a temporary switch to Fenerbahce (via the Echo) as well.

Borini’s been an undeniable transfer failure since arriving from Roma three years back, and we only hope a deal is done soon. We wish him all the best, but we won’t be nervous about his departure coming back to haunt us.
