Milan chief hails Mario Balotelli’s radical change of attitude since Liverpool exit

AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani has praised striker Mario Balotelli, who he says has put his bad-boy days well and truly behind him following his summer switch from Liverpool.

Balotelli, who joined us from Milan last summer, spent just twelve forgettable months on Merseyside before returning to Italy – having done his reputation as a frustrating and troublesome individual no favours at all.

However, Galliani could not be more pleased with his summer signing, after sealing a deal to take the 25-year-old back on a season-long loan deal – claiming that he has at last changed his ways.

Balotelli, who was an unused substitute on his return to the San Siro on Saturday, watched on as his new employers beat Empoli 2-1. And despite his new man not being involved, Galliani is seemingly confident that Balotelli will soon rediscover his best form for Milan.

“He has an extraordinary attitude, he’s changed radically,” Galliani said, in quotes taken by the Liverpool Echo. “He’s the first to arrive at [the training centre] and the last to leave. Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic often wants the players to have breakfast at 8:30 a.m., and he’s always there before 8.

“He’s probably realised that this is his last chance and I’m sure he won’t waste it. His technical ability has never been in question. If he continues with the approach he’s had in this first week then he’ll be fine.”

Balotelli scored 30 goals in 54 appearances during his first spell at Milan. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to match those standards at Liverpool, where he found the net on just four occasions in all competitions – while only one of those came in the Premier League.
