Having all but secured the signing of right back Jeremie Frimpong, Liverpool look set to follow that up by signing left back Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth.
The 2024-25 season isn’t over yet, but with the league won it’s clear Liverpool are already deep into their summer transfer plans with right back Jeremie Frimpong having undergone a medical and the club agreeing to trigger his release clause ahead of a transfer.
They might secure their second signing of the summer before the season officially ends, too. That’s with reports today that they’re also advancing quickly on the Milos Kerkez front, seeking to bring in the 21-year-old Hungarian international left back from Bournemouth.
Kerkez has made no secret of his desire to join the Reds and international teammates Dominik Szoboszlai at Anfield for next season, and the rapid, hard working, well-balanced left back in many ways possesses a similar profile to current starter Andy Robertson.
With Robertson at times appearing to lack the stamina to play two games a week at his usual high standards this past season, signing Kerkez should give manager Arne Slot two very strong options to deploy next season depending on player form and fitness.
The consensus, though, seems to be that Kerkez’ arrival could mean the end of the road at Liverpool fan favourite backup Kostas Tsimikas, who has been a solid alternative to Robertson over the years but does not appear poised to be his eventual successor.
